Author GuidelinesSCM-Canterbury Press brings together four distinct but complementary religious publishing lists: SCM Press; Canterbury Press;RMEP; and Hymns Ancient & Modern. Among our lists you will find some of the world’s best-known religious titles and authors. We publish over 100 titles per year. The guidelines below offer information for those who are contracted authors, and those who are seeking to publish. Guidelines for Aspiring AuthorsPlease don't send us proposals for dissertations, fiction, poetry, drama, children's books, books of specialist local interest, or - as a general rule - multi-authored collections of essays or symposium papers.
Guidelines for Authors of Schoolbooks
Guidelines for Contracted AuthorsOnce your proposal has been agreed by the commissioning editor we will send you a contract along with our author guidelines and author questionnaire. The guide for authors provides extensive information about preparing your manuscript and disk, our house-style, indexing, and permissions, for example. It is vital that you inform either the commissioning editor or the editorial manager if you are unlikely to meet the submission date. It is important that you adhere to our house-style when preparing your text, as this will make the editorial process as easy as possible for the copy-editor. The editorial manager will contact you shortly after contracts have been exchanged with a proposed publication date, production schedule, and information about who will be copy-editing your book. We will also let you know when you can expect your set of proofs to arrive. If you have any questions about your manuscript/book please contact us Please do not send us originals of manuscripts, disks, photographs, illustrations or anything else. We cannot accept responsibility for irreplaceable materials. Where to reach usFor SCM Press and Canterbury Press contact: Tel: +44 (0)20 7776 7540
